In February 2014, we convened a public forum with urban agriculture activists and food system scholars from several academic institutions in New York City. We presented preliminary findings from the Beyond the Kale research, followed by a panel discussion about how community-based activists and scholars might best work together to advance social justice through urban agriculture.
